FAQ and What to Wear/Bring 
to a Yoga Class
WHAT MAKES FitZonePLUS DIFFERENT?
FitZonePLUS provides classes designed specifically for people who are plus-size, carry a few extra lbs, seniors or those who simply don't feel comfortable in a regular class.  We provide a motivating, non judgmental, non intimidating, supportive environment.  The average yoga studio does not provide individual attention, there is an extra fee for yoga mats and equipment and there are usually 25-50 students per class. Our classes are smaller than average and we ensure that each person is given individual attention.

We will assess health concerns and capabilities (learned from the waiver each person must sign before their first class) and provide individual modifications if required to ensure that every body can benefit 100% and be comfortable. All equipment including yoga mat, straps, bolster and blocks are provided and included in the price.

DO I NEED TO BE A SPECIFIC SIZE TO ATTEND CLASSES?
NO! If you feel uncomfortable in a 'regular' yoga class, you are welcome. No one is too big or too small! 

I'M NOT AN ABSOLUTE BEGINNER. WILL IT BE TOO EASY?
If you have yoga experience, choose our Iron Yoga, Shake Your Asana, Yoga Flow, Yin or any of the Restorative Yoga Classes.

WHAT TO BRING?
  • Face cloth or towel
  • Water (important, you must be well hydrated before and during the class)
           Yoga Mat, Blocks, Straps and Bolsters are all provided and included in     
           the class fee! (if you have your own yoga mat, feel free to bring it)

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Comfortable exercise clothing such as yoga pants, leggings, shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Yoga is practiced in bare feet. Although there is a washroom and a private change room available, it's best to arrive in your exercise clothes if possible. Please arrive a few minutes early to class so that you can change clothes, settle in and be comfortable.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A CLASS SERIES?
Click on the New Client Promotions page and choose the option you prefer. It's best to register online with a credit card, a PayPal account is NOT required.  You can also pay by cash or Interac Email Transfer or Cash prior the first class - but you must Click Here or call 416 629 1967 to register first.  Space is limited, don't be disappointed - Register early!  Please do not show up at the studio without a reservation, we wouldn't want you to be disappointed if there is no space.

CAN I PAY AS I GO?
We offer 10 Class Packages and Drop In Classes. It's best to register online with a credit card, a PayPal account is NOT required. You can also pay by cash or Interac Email Transfer or Cash prior the first class - but you must Click Here or call 416 629 1967 to register first.  Please do not show up at the studio without a reservation, we wouldn't want you to be disappointed if there is no space.

I'M GOING TO BE LATE - CAN I STILL JOIN IN?
Classes start and end promptly. If you know you will be late please send a text to 416 629 1967. Please enter silently so as not to disturb the class.  

ARE THERE CHANGING FACILITIES AND SHOWERS?
There are a washroom, shower and a change room. To save time, you may want to arrive in your exercise clothes. Most people find that they do not need to shower after a yoga class.

SHOULD I EAT BEFORE CLASS?
Approximately 2 hours before class eat something light so you will be nourished. Look for foods that are easily digested like soups, fruits and vegetables. Avoid dense foods such as fried foods, meat and heavy grains like bran.  Protein or Granola bars are fine as well.
